Background Story

The apprentice of a legendary creature from Aiur, Lanaya is a psychic adept who specializes in strategic assassination for the Sentinels. Her psionic abilities manifest in and out of combat, and can be used to amplify damage while attacking, to protect her from enemy assault, or cloak herself invisibly before lashing out at an unfortunate passerby. And so more often than not, the foes that encounter the Templar on the battlefield find themselves dead and buried, their lives cut short as she fades back into the shadows, waiting for a new prey.

SKILL OVERVIEW

 

Refraction

Manipulating psionic energy around herself grants Lanaya a mystical refraction of light that protects her from external harm and gives her bonus damage for a limited number of instances.

Level 1 - 2 instances for 17 seconds. 20 bonus damage.

Level 2 - 3 instances for 17 seconds. 40 bonus damage.

Level 3 - 4 instances for 17 seconds. 60 bonus damage.

Level 4 - 5 instances for 17 seconds. 80 bonus damage.

Main Skill of lanaya. Bonus damage is very useful in the early games for farming as she harassing the enemy hero. At the same time, get a good defense from any attacks 2/3/4/5 attack, which makes high damage nuke become useless to lanaya.

Meld

 The art of Shakuras allows Lanaya to conceal herself at any time of the day and strike from the shadows with her armor-shredding blades. Deals bonus damage and reduces enemy armor for 10 seconds.

Level 1 - 50 damage, -2 armor
Level 2 - 100 damage, -4 armor
Level 3 - 150 damage, -6 armor
Level 4 - 200 damage, -8 armor

50 Mana Cost and 7 second Cooldown for each level

This multi-functional skills that can be used for attack and defense. Lanaya meld make bigger damage output 200 Backstab damage and -8 armor. Can also make a meld lanaya avoid projectile skill. Remember, it melded the offensive skills and is NOT used to hide.

Psi Blade

Using her psionic powers, the Templar causes enemy units behind her target to feel the same pain as the target itself. This psionic power extends her attack range.

Creates psionic traps on ground. When triggered, it will slow units within 375 range by 50%.

Level 3 - 7 second cooldown, 50% slow on activation, Max 11 Traps

Lanaya have a flexible skills. Take the skills according to the conditions and individual taste. But remember, keep focus on refraction because this skill will help you farm and killing hero.

    Starting Item

     

    It is starting item for almost all hero in DotA. Magic stick is for backing up for her low HP and Mana pool, and 2 tango for not to roaming around base and line, but you can change with healing salve

    
    

    Core Item

    

    • Phase Boots. Helping lanaya for when pursuing an enemy, no one unit that could stand in his way. +24 damage is also decent for help fighting last hit by an enemy. Try Phase Boots so before the 10th minute
    • Stygian Desolator. Orb effect which I think is best suited as Lanaya. +60 damage and -6 armor that will make you able to 1 hit KO
    • Magic Wand. Upgrade your stick is magic became a magic wand, no need to explanation why do you must have this
    • Empty Bottle. Very useful for covering her HP and Mana pool
    • Kelen's Dagger. Items that MUST be purchased, to easier to hit when in meld form
      

    • Scroll of Town Portal. Always prepare for Town Portal in your inventory. I think not need further explanation for this one too

    Luxury Item
    Expensive items are usually purchased at the late game. In this guide I want to make Lanaya type 1 hit KO, so dont be surprised

    Buy MKB for Never Miss  in your attack

    •   Divine Rapier 

    Need a reason to buy this item? Of course not. So that enemy hero REALLY DEAD, buy this. The enemy hit combo Refract + Desol + DR + MKB + Buriza + meld + Critical strike = AUTO RAGE QUIT

    • Black King Bar

    Buy BKB if his enemies are many stuner. Usually the "Assassin" was a major target for the Disabler. So if the enemy there are 3 or more skills / disable items, buy this.

    • Aghanim's Scepter

    Scepter wont effect to Lanaya's ultimate skill, so.. why you have to buy this zzz
    

    • Battle Fury

    Lanaya is ranged hero unit, battle fury is good for meele for cleaving attack, Psi Blade of Lanaya is already gives you cleaving attack

    •   Refresher Orb

    CD Lanaya skill most only 17 seconds. Double refraction? Double meld? if you really want, go play WTF mode
    

    • Lothar's Edge

    Confuse the enemy, with invisible of meld or Lothar. May purchased in the public games, but if clan war? this really useless item. If it is lanaya,enemy support heroes must already prepared some dust / gem. So, why should bunag waste of 3300 gold just for +38 damage & +10 ASPD?... Farm again and better buy Sacred Relic and then make Divine Rapier.
    
    

     

    Guide to Kill with Lanaya

    Gank enemies who are alone
    

    • Activated refraction, should do in the FOG
    • Cast psionic traps, and directly activate to turn slow your enemy
    • Blink to the side of him, if already have a dagger. If have not, you have to run to his side. But DO NOT activate the phase boots now
    • Meld and directly hit the enemy
    • If have not yet dead, autohit enemy, and then activate the phase boots so nobody can stop you to kill  

     When chased by 1 or 2 enemies
    

    • Find a hill, went up into the hill so that you do not look for a moment (or it could be behind the tree, just look for a gap so that you are in FOG)
    • Activate meld, be quiet for a moment and wait for your enemies toward you
    • Well, here you have 2 choices. First, if you have guts, hits enemies in range, and switch on refraction. Hit hit hit, if escape use psionic traps, and continue in this way. Second, you can remain silent until your enemies already far. Remember do not be melded in the open because it was just a waste of time to play hide and seek with the enemy  
    • Successful run away, or even turn 1-2 kill enemy hero
